*SOLD* Aluminum Double Bass - G.A. Pfretzschner

I've been wanting dearly to restore this bass, but I've got neither the drive or money and so I've decided to put it up for sale.

I believe it to be a G.A. Pfretzschner, aluminum body - maple neck. There is a good bit of information about them on this forum and here: http://www.uptonbass.com/SOLD-Pfretz...m-Double-Bass/

This particular bass is a little rough. It's neck needs some attention and the bridge needs to be flipped (or so I was told on here a while ago). As far as the neck goes, the fingerboard is seperated from the neck itself in one section. The crack hasn't moved at all since I've owned it (about 9 months) but it is certainly unsightly. Here is the thread regarding this:

My New Aluminum Doublebass -> Fingerboard Issues

There are also plenty of pictures in that thread, however if interest is shown I could take new more detailed pictures. It looks exactly the same now though, just with a little dust.

I'm asking $800 or best offer. I'm willing to work with anyone on a price, just keep it reasonable.

For $800 firm I will deliver the bass to you within 3 hours of 15601. Otherwise no shipping, I can only imagine the hassle and am not interested in that. Pickup would be in Greensburg, Pa.

No trades unless you have a Misfit diSSent size large bike frame

Ray Brown started out on an aluminum bass--wonder if it was one of these?
