I purchased this Ampeg Baby Bass from Rudy's Music in 1993. The bass is in excellent and very clean cosmetic and mechanical condition. The pictures don't do it justice, but it was the best I could do. I don't know the year of the bass, but I assume it is from the 60s as most of them are. Any info on how to date one of these is appreciated.
I had a wooden bridge carved by a luthier which warms the sound considerably. The original metal bridge, as well as the original soft case (needs repair) and a few different sets of strings are included with the bass. The tuners and neck adjustment screw all operate smoothly. The action is even and the ebony fingerboard is in great shape.
The only problem with the bass is a small split in the side seam on one of the bouts (see pictures). This separation has not grown or moved since I've owned the bass and does not affect the instrument at all.
