I had a local electronics expert alter the cord so I could unplug it and leave the mic on the instrument. This fixes a problem I had with the design -- that the cord is permanently attached to the mic. I didn't like the cord laying on the floor still attached to the instrument during set breaks, waiting to be stepped on or tripped over.
