*SOLD* Andreas Morelli bass for sale!

I have an Andreas Morelli(German) bass for sale. Just throwing it out there. I plan to take it to Bill Merchant's shop in NYC if I get no bites. The bass was made around 1900, and has a little history to it. The guy who sold the bass to me about 10 years ago told me he knew the bass was in Benny Goodman's band for a while in the 30s. This is a 7/8th scale instrument. A very very fine sounding bass. When the sound post is in the proper spot it just sings. This is not the biggest sounding bass, but the tone is very very nice. The thumb position is very easy to play in and also sounds very well. PM me and I can get you some pictures. Last time I had work done on it(just a checkup) was about coming on 2 years ago.

For the last 2 1/2 years I have been working with Bobby Hutcherson. I have been looking for a good Morelli to use in his band. could you tell me what city you are in and also the price you are looking for. I lived in NYC for about 16 years and used Bill Merchant all the time. Both him and Gage are fantastic luthiers. I am in the San Francisco bay area and we are really hurting for good luthiers here. Bill said he was going to try to get 20k for the bass. So I think somewhere 16 maybe.... I might be asking to much for this. I might not though. Let me know what you all think about this price.

Hello Everyone!

Sorry I have been out of town visiting my parents. They live in a place with no phone reception for me, and that means no net on the iphone >,<. Back now if anyone else is interested. man, i played on an identical morelli in undergrad. really loved that bass.

Is anyone else interested in this bass? I am taking it to Bill's shop at the end of this month. Well starting the drive from Las Vegas to NYC on the 21st. It will go cheaper here before it gets to Bill Merchants!
