SOLD!
Selling my upright bass trunk/travel case, which was used very lightly around Texas and Oklahoma when I was traveling with country bands on weekends the past two years. I bought it used in pretty much the same condition, though you'll get it with a fresh coat of black spray paint (to cover my stencils : ) I'm not traveling that much anymore, and I don't need two trunks.
Outside dimensions are 81.5" long x 22.5" wide x 38" high (including casters). For reference in pics, my Kay is 27 inches wide at the lower bout and there is plenty of room for a wider bass. The inside is setup for a 3/4 upright bass (for example, a Kay or King Mortone) with foam padding shaped to the treble bout of the body on the bottom of the case. There are straps for holding a bow case and a space for holding a strings/parts tray on one end (the tray is long lost, but could be easily built from a few pieces of plywood). For reference, that's a 1955 Kay C1 bass in the case in the photo album. Note that my Kay is only 16" deep from back of the body to the top of the bridge, and that 17" would probably be the maximum depth that would work with this case.
Asking $300 plus shipping. I can freight this anywhere in the CONUS if you cover freight. As an example, Greyhound from Austin to Denver for this case is $116. You can try to tempt me with trades (an Underwood pickup + cash, for example) but I'm mainly looking for cash. Thanks.
Many pics of the bass trunk at this link.
