*SOLD* Eberle/Musima in Indy

I am thinking about selling my Eberle laminate Bass which I bought brand new in December of 2007. It was made in E.Germany by the Musima company and is NOS (new old stock) meaning the bass is at least 18 years old, but had been sitting in a warehouse in NYC all of this time. The Eberle Double Bass is one of the most durable and tough double basses ever made and 3-5 years ago this same bass would have sold for $3000.00, but i am willing to let it go for $1200.00. I had the bass fully set up by Nick Lloyd in Cincinnati: New Endpin, new sound post, new Thomastik Belcanto strings, fingerboard planed and well dressed, Kacey Case, ect... I have put over $650.00 into this bass on top of what i paid for it. The bass measures is as follows: Body - Endpin to neck block is 40.5"; string length is 39.5";Upper Bout is 18"; Lower Bout is 20.5". If anyone is interested let me know. I am in Indianapolis and would be will to drive and meet someone half way.

Is that bass 3/4 or 1/2 size? The dimensions you list suggest a 1/2 size bass. Do you buy it from Ideal? If so, I almost bought that bass from Steve but decided to go with a fully carved model instead. From the pics Steve sent me on that Eberle, it looked like a decent smaller bass.

Its a great bass

Yea, i got it from Kate an dSteve at Ideal. Its a little larger than a 1/2 size though, that’s why I listed the dimensions and not "what" it was. A 1/2 size usually has a 38 inch string length this has over a 39 inch string length.

Concur on the size issue. Mine, sold as half size, has a 40" string length and could also be called 5/8ths. These size things are all relative.

Anyway, someone should jump on this quick. You'll be getting a nice bass. IMHO, of course.
