Lightly used. Came on a new Shen that my school bought, that I now use as my practice bass. I replaced them with Helicore Hybrids (my strings of choice, at least on Shens) 2 days after I got the instrument, as these strings made obvious the fact that these new Shens have no bottom end. The string are uncut and still feels new, with the wrappings in more or less perfect condition.
They're apparently great orchestral strings on instruments with a nice bottom end, so they're worth trying if that's what you have.
