]*SOLD* My new bass should be finished soon. I have also attached an MP3 (bottom of post) so you can get an idea of its sound. Recorded direct with a Shure Beta 57A. Sorry for the sloppy playing.
I am in the process of gathering funds for a new upright bass (LaScala Hybrid) and I need to clear out some equipment.
Here, I am selling a
1964 Kay C-1 String Bass.
The Good:
• 1964 C-1
• Great sound with loud projection and good sustain
• No delamination, but usual edge wear
• Warm aged burst color
• Dark rosewood tailpiece and fingerboard with plenty of thickness
• Black tuning gears
• Kolstein Heritage Strings
• Structurally sound and great for gigging.
The Ugly:
• Usual Kay finish damage around the edges. Wood itself is in great shape.
• Crack in the scroll (see pic), but solid repair.
• Not the usual heal break(see pic). This one does not go all the way through the heal. Solid repair and has never moved in the 4 years that I have owned it.
I am asking
SOLD. The bass is located approximately 1.5 hours north of New York City. I have no idea how to ship a bass so I would prefer a some what local sale. Payment can be made with a US Postal money order or COD.
I have additional feedback on ebay as bass_1234. I will try to get some recordings online this coming weekend.
Thanks for looking.
Other items I am selling are:
