*SOLD* FS: 1968 Pollman 'Gamba' Double Bass *PRICE DROP*

Sweet little bass! Easy to play, nice to look at. Some repaired top and back cracks, all in good shape, and the bass has been given a clean bill of health by Steve Schock (our local Bloomington IN luthier, who you've never heard of, but who knows his stuff). Neck has never been broken. Set up with a new set of D'Addario Helicore Hybrids. Come with a padded gig bag of indeterminate manufacture: "Made for the Bass Viol Shop". Great bass for a serious conservatory student or pro jazz player. Or anyone who likes to play nice basses!
Asking price was $9500, but has been lowered to $8000.00, firm. The bass is available for playing/viewing in Bloomington IN.

If you're a serious buyer, I will drive it somewhere within 5-6 hours of Bloomington. Call me at 812-340-0774 or email ron.kadish@gmail.com for more pics/info.

More pics. I should mention, the flame on this bass is outstanding, and the carved purfling is beautiful. A real looker as well as a great player!

****PRICE DROP****

The price on this fine bass is down to $8000.00. This is firm. I'll consider helping out with shipping, too.
Please call with questions, 812-340-0774, or email ron@ronkadish.com.
Thanks for looking!

I'd love to play this bass if you're ever in my neck of the woods.

Aim from Vegas and I would love that bass. If I can get some money over the summer and save up I'll buy it. I'll keep you posted if you keep me posted as well.
Thanks

Great price, yes. Not sure, though, if there is a repaired crack in the back. Right at a sensitive spot. If so, I know that it might be properly repaired. Just wondering...

I know, I know..... but, that soundpost crack's been very well repaired by a guy who has done a lot of really high quality work on various basses of mine. I know it's a big turn-off, but I have no reason to suspect that it'll come undone.

It's still a good deal, IMHO!

Mind sharing with us who did the repair on the back?

Steven Schock of Schock Violins, Bloomington IN.
No, you've never heard of him, he's not some 'famous' luthier.
But, he does good work, as evidenced by the volume of work brought into his shop by faculty and students from the IU Jacobs School of Music.
I should know by 4/22 if the sale is going to go through.
Thanks for looking!
