3/4 Wm. Lewis & Son ply bass for sale. I've enjoyed learning on this bass for the past few years but have now upgraded (thanks Jeremy!) I bought this bass from a graduate of the Denver Univ jazz program who had used it through his 4 years there... so while it's a beginner bass, it has a very nice, full sound and ring adequate for a serious college program. It originated from a highschool music program and therefore suffers from delamination on some edges and a very small dent on the side of the lower bout. However, I haven't had any structural problems with it at all. Previous owner had a lot of work done to improve its sound and playability (adjustable bridge, fingerboard dressing, soundpost adjustment.) Its smaller shoulders would make it easier for younger players to get into the upper register.
I currently have a Full Circle installed; also have a BassMax that fits the bridge wing. I've used both successfully through a variety of amp/cab combinations. It has Spiro Mittels w/ a couple years of mild/moderate playing, still have some life in them (purchased by me.) 41 1/2" mensur.
$975 w/ Full Circle only
$900 w/ BassMax only
$800 bass alone
I also have a Glasser fiberglass (French) bow if you want it with the bass. I'm in Denver but am willing to drive an hour or so, possibly further. I can provide more pics if you ask. Cheers!
edit: just like everyone else, I'm at a loss to include photos here (yes, I've inserted the links as per FAQs section! Help, anyone?!?) In the meantime, a handful of photos are
