*SOLD* FS: Codabow Revelation German CF Bow - Brand New - $525

Hello all you TBers. I have a brand new German Codabow Revelation for sale. It is in perfect condition and still under warranty from the manufacturer. In fact, it still has the warranty activation sticker on the frog! There are no nicks or scuffs on it.

I am really impressed with this bow. It grabs the string immediately and produces a very large and warm sound. I have been playing it on my fully carved Hungarian strung with EP regulars and it seems to be a great match with these strings.

This bow shows the CF weave. $525 and it is yours. I am located in Bellingham, WA, and travel to Seattle frequently.

Greetings! I am curious to know why you are selling it, since you offered up such a glowing review of the product. Did you compare the Revelation to the Metropolitan?Enlighten us! Regards, KJPbop

I am selling it to fund another purchase. I really like the grab of this bow in the lower register an I was contemplating keeping it for that reason. The E and the A strings don't hesitate at all, the note just pops out big and growly. I also was contemplating keeping it as a loner for some of my students. The grab of the bow eases the frustrations for beginning to intermediate bowers and it is basically indestructible. A huge plus.

Most of my studies lately have been romantic legato solo pieces in the upper register and I feel that is really the direction and style that I am drifting towards. The bow that I am seeking is a bit lighter and more sensitive in the upper register. For me, this bow is a bit heavy up there and I find myself preferring an airier, breathier, lighter sound.

Down low, this bow is chunk machine. In fact, I was playing a bit of Metallica with it the other day and it sounded really big and crunchy : )

As far as the comparison to other Coda Bows: I actually skipped the David Gage model and went straight to the Infinity. I spent several days with both and decided that the differences were fairly minimal. I even had a bind listening/playing comparison party with other players and we all decided that for the price difference, this bow was the better choice. The Infinity model offered a bit more preciseness on 16th note runs, but the bounce was comparable and the note sustain and quality was very similar.

Any interest in trading for a GK MB150E combo in good condition, including a GK carrying bag?
