Selling my blonde Engelhardt EM1-B upright bass, made circa 1999. Good example of Engelhardt's continuation of the Kay tradition after taking over their factory in 1969. Spruce top, maple back, original (sealed) rosewood fingerboard and tailpiece, original endpin, adjustable bridge, and of course, blonde finish, which has mellowed to a beautiful golden color. The bass has had the typical Kay/Engelhardt neck break, but has been professionally repaired with an insert into the neck heel via the fingerboard. Solid as a rock now. Images can been seen here:

The bass is currently set up for bluegrass/rockabilly slap-style playing with a mixed set of Silver Slap E/A-Weedwacker D/G strings, which produce some wonderfully percussive sounds. Played normally, it produces a beautiful warm tone which amplifies very well. Asking
$999 $899, including cover and Onyx bass wheel. (Pickup not included.) Local sales only (Seattle area), though I would be willing to drive a reasonable distance to a very interested party. Email with any questions or to schedule a time to view the bass. Thanks for looking!
