Hey all,
I was finally able to convince my wife that I could buy an acoustic upright bass, but the condition was that I pay for part of it with the electric upright I currently have. So, sad to say, the instrument that got me started and gave me my starter muscle memory has to go.
I've included pics below if you just want to skip the text, but here's the low down. I bought this direct from Jesse at Ergo back in December 2005, arriving at my door in Jan 06. It's a 4 string electric upright. I replaced the stock strings with Superflexibles about a year ago or so, which really made the sound more lively. I replaced the original stand with a beefier one that gives it a more stable base, although will include the original so you can play with a smaller footprint, too. This model includes a tone knob, which Jesse has since removed from his designs (which made me happy to discover that mine was still a little unique ;D)
Also, I picked up an "altoids preamp" from another Talkbass member (bayoucables) a while back, and it fits perfectly on the back below the Tone knob. It's currently affixed with velcro, making it easy to remove, and the velcro is attached with the standard sticky backing for velcro strips, meaning that it'll stay stuck, but if you have a better preamp or just don't like it, you can easily remove it and any leftover sticky stuff without harming the finish on the bass.
Some small scratches, a little nick above the D tuner. One small scratch is actually at ideal bowing height, and is what my teacher told me to use as a guide ;D You can actually see the light reflecting on it in the middle picture below.
So there you have it: Ergo upright, Superflexible strings, basic preamp.
I'd like to get $500 (I pay shipping) but will entertain reasonable offers. I can easily ship to the continental US. I'm very familiar with Paypal, and have shipped oddly shaped things in the past (of course, if you're local, pickup is available too).
Pictures!
