I was asking $600 for it but right now I'm considering all offers. If you're interested/want to invest into it. I want to fix it up but all in all, I'd probably fix it then have to sell it. It's probably cheaper for me to run my Wilson pickup I have up for sale and mix it with a mic.
We'll see but either way, pm me with an offer.
***You can read the whole backdrop on this sale but it looks like I'm going to be short on cash for the repair so I'm lowering the price to $600 and I'll cover the shipping to Dino. You have to cover the shipping back to you so in essence, split shipping. I don't know how long it'll take Dino to get to it but you can just email him, we'll keep the repair number with you and just let him know it's yours. It'll ship tracked and insured from my place to him. If you can get a deal on shipping then this is all for you. The repairs are $375 total and he's doing some of it as a gratuity. In essence, you get this guy for $975 plus shipping from Dino's shop to you. Has a stand, case and tummy rest. Could use some new strings but you'll have the old ones that are on there that will get you by. If it comes time to ship it when my Loan money comes in for school I'll ship it just so it's there and can get the work it's needed. I can invest into repairing it so a month from now I might have it in my hands again, playing and ready to go back out. Either way, I just know in the not too distant future, I'll be coming up short. Hit me up with what you got if you want to trade.***
I've had this thing since mid 2006. I posted it before and I believe I deleted or closed the thread a few months ago. Didn't keep up the communication within the post and blew it, I was hesitant.
I finally got in full contact with Dino and sent him snapshots. He said flat out in the next email,
"WOOOWW!!!
Someone tore S____ out of that bass but good,
Well we know it needs a bridge and adjusters for it also ( 1 ) don't know what the electronics will be -- hopefully they are in tact.
Best time to send it is after the Holidays --I just wouldn't be able to do anything till then."
The electronics are a small pin that mounts into the bridge after you drill a hole into it I believe. That's how it was setup when I bought it back in 06. It had a make do bridge on it. I'm not certain as to what he means by torn up but you'll see in the pics.
The guy who had it before me passed away. I bought it from his wife. Then before him he bought it used at a local small follk shop here in town. I don't have any info on it before that and I'm not sure how old it is. The BSX logo is on the side if that's any indicator.
Any info would be appreciated on my part because honestly, I don't even know what this bass should look like aside from what it has going on inside and out and finding that information online is impossible. Since I've owned it all technical info has been word of mouth.
There's no price on this. Brand new on musicians friend they are about $1900 and I don't know if they charge tax, I don't think they do online. It's been awhile since I've bought anything new. Dino will shoot me something eventually and I can follow up this post with that but for now it's what you see and it's at Dino's shop.
If it turns into you wanting to buy it right now regardless of repair costs or want to make an offer after I receive a quote, simply put, the bass will ship from Dino to you. I'll let him know I sold it to you and he'll keep your contact info with the bass with a note. I took it to a guy in town named Zoran and he quoted $200 for a nut and bridge to get it back to playable so I may keep it for that if the repair costs are literally upgrading, stripping and anything near $800. I have NO idea what the price will be. It's like one of those eBay raffles I guess, lol.
Anyways, just hit me up, if you want to know anything I'll tell you.
I have the tummy rest, a stand for it (kind of like a modified drum stand but I was told this is the original stand when I did play this out and someone told me this is one of his earlier models for sure). I assumed 2003 but from what I hear now the whole BSX style with Dino started around 1997. Also a cordura case that is the original case. No BSX logo though but it most definitely is made for that bass.
Hopefully you guys can tell me something I don't know.

So Dino got back to me again when I asked him for a pricing/quote.
"The charge for the new bridge would $375.00 --that is the hart of this bass. That is a ( T ) Bass --check the price.
I would love to hear what it sounds like with that pickup you have on there.
PLEASE DO NOT SHIP UNTIL AFTER THE HOLIDAYS --I am up to my neck in basses ,
Take care,
Dino"
Literally, a year ago on the phone it was $200 from Dino after I told him, without the pictures and then I got into a car accident, t-boned and the cops sided with the guy who ran the red light. My luck.
I'm assuming a decent used price would be $1300, minus the $375 repair, I'll let it go for $800 shipped to Dino then you take care of it after that or I can ship it to you if you want to hold onto it now or pursue fixing it yourself. I can fix it locally for less but it won't be stock or original however doesn't sound like it is right now. It's a mixed bag but I have to set a price and it just so happens $800 is a magic number here I guess.
Pm me now if you're interested or have any questions.
***---ADDED 12/05/09---***
I did my research... it took me two hours and 4 other people helped. I was kind of surprised.
http://www.wilson-pickups.com/Specif...s/Mounting.htm
The price for one of these shipped within Europe quoted from their website is $492.8832 USD. However if you were to buy a set of 4 then $1107.9392 USD. I was shocked, I saw a picture in color and saw the red stripe on that pinhead and it blew my mind. I mean, the fact that that little piece alone is probably worth more than the cost of repairing it. I found ads on here where they've sold the full sets for $500, anyone interested in a single one in case I find a set of my own? Anyone need an extra for a fiver?
I'm not sure where we're at now but I'm letting Dino know and I believe the hole in the center is for the wires of his transducers to run from the bridge to the circuit board down below. It'd make sense to me and from the looks of the BSX 4 volume individual string adjuster on the bottom, that's the only way I see this bass working.
So... the quote will probably change and I'm going to adjust the price as such or if it doesn't and Dino already knew it all, we'll see where it all goes. It seems like his bridge has the transducers crafted within it, we'll see where it goes and I'll have some clarity between Dino and myself.
Until then, anyone that wants to hit me up with any questions feel free, I may adjust the price but I'll keep you posted.

"Hello Jack,
The Bridge will cost you $375.00 -There is no lower price for this bridge . -------------(( shipping to & from is on the customer.))
The screws in the body are to hold the bridge in a certain spot and position , There are adjusters that go on those screws so you can change the height of the bridge. I'll include those and a new Nut."
I'm on the fence, I haven't used it in a long time but this is why it's a feeler. To me, it just feels like I'm getting a T-4 for $500 which is a bargain but at the same time I just unloaded a dump of money on other deals. It's hard to say which is why this is a feeler. If anyone can put up the money AND wants this just say so. It's a feeler just to see if anyone wants this because Dino won't be able to even look at it until January.
Thing is I could use the cash and I have another bass in mind so it's 50/50 for me. I don't see very many for sale so I figured someone would be interested regardless of the current condition. If anyone is interested in closer or specific pictures please just let me know.
