i'm located in austin texas. only selling because i found an old bass i'm planning on getting repaired.
the bass has a pecanic walnut tailpiece, i have the original ebony one around here which i could put on. the bass has spirocore mittel on it which i have found have a nice compromise between pizz and arco on this bass...good volume too.
i prefer local pickup. if you know of a good way to ship then i will consider it.
price is $3000 and a little bit negotiable.

fb has a little scoop so good growl with most all strings.
had a new soundpost fitted a few years ago, just had the luthier check the bass out a few weeks ago and everything looks great.
no bow.
comes with an ok bag. not sure if it's what all shen basses come in or what... |

guy was gonna paypal me, i said i'd prefer wire. well he said it would take a few days. in that time he went to a shop and they told him all the shen 3/4 basses have a weak E string.
with mittels, the walnut tailpiece and current setup, the E string is not a problem on this bass for pizz., i don't think it was ever a problem for arco...
anyway. how about $2800.
if you're in austin and looking you should play this bass... |

???
Then there's an awful lot of us out here playing basses with weak E strings. |

i think the advice was actually "all the 3/4 shens, regardless of shape and whether willow or maple, have weak E strings."
glad i didn't go buy that box to ship it in over the weekend... |

I gave over $4k for mine and I think I made a fair deal. At $2,500, this is a steal!
