*SOLD* FS: Thomastik-Infeld Spirocore Mittel Set, Great Shape *PRICE DROP*

Surely someone wants a good set of Mitts!

Thomastik-Infeld Spirocore Mittel (Medium) Set, $80, Shipped CONUS, sold as set only

These strings were on my back-up bass for close to a year. The strings no longer have that signature "spiro new string twang", they are in essence new strings that have been played in to their sweet spot -- I only played that bass five or six times in this time period. The silk windings near the tailpiece are a bit frayed from the full circle pickup that was on that bass.

These are about $200 new. So this is less than half-price for a string with years of life ahead them.

*SOLD* Dlugolecki wound gut E and A, plain gut D and G, $50, Shipped CONUS, sold as set only

These strings were on the bass for roughly 8 months, plenty of gigs, etc. They sounded great when they were pulled off.

The plain gut D and G strings are in very good shape with no fraying. I'd expect to get another year out of them if they are properly maintained.

The wound gut E and A are in fair shape. The E is the better of the two. The A string's windings are separating around the B in half position. This didn't seem to effect the string sound in any way, nor did it present a challenge to play. I just wouldn't expect those windings to hold up for any real length of time.

This set of string costs around $500 new. So if you ever wanted to try guts on your bass this is a cheap way to do it with some top notch strings.

*SOLD* Velvet Garbo Light Set, $30, Shipped CONUS, sold as set only

Used around 6 months, plenty of gigs, etc., in fair condition. They still sounded good on the bass they were on. These strings lost their brightness within a week of putting them on the bass. They still sound pretty much like they did after that first week. The windings are beginning to show some wear where the string rests on the bridge. This is most noticeable on the A string. The copper wound A and E will need to be polished if you care about the appearance. I think I read somewhere that toothpaste does the trick...

This set of string costs around $250 new. So if you ever wanted to try the Garbo Light on your bass this is a cheap way to do it without committing to much cash to the experiment.
