*SOLD* Gamut Guts Pistoy G and D

Extra heavy + gauge, varnished, knotted. Used for about 2 weeks. These are great strings, I just prefer the Gamut Lyon over the Pistoy. I tried these as an experiment. Bought new for about 260 for the pair, sell for 175 shipped in the CONUS. These are still in great shape, and show very little wear. The Lyons that are going back on are nearing 2 years of service, and these seem to be holding up just as well. I'd expect at least 18 months of daily use from these, as long as you keep them maintained. The varnish is nice because it seems to drastically prolong the life of plain guts, and simplify maintenance. Simply sand them lightly with 320 or 400, and wipe them with your favorite walnut oil or linseed oil.

pistoy guts

Brandon
May I ask what type of music you play? Do the Pistoys work well for walking changes? They seem awful heavy, but then my only gut experience is Lenzners. Thnx John
Sorry, i should have PMed this.

I play jazz primarily. They work well for this, and are not as heavy as the Lyon. Compared to Lenzners, they will be a little heavier, and therefore a little stiffer and more predictable for pizz playing. They do not have as much tension as steel or synthetic strings.
