*SOLD* GK MB150E - $450 +shipping

You know the one, a thoroughly road proven, lightweight performance amp.The standard for jazz bass for the last, what 25 years? I’ve played loud clubs and concert halls with poundy drummers and big horn sections and it’s never hiccupped. But, I have another amp that I use more now and am actually thinking of an even smaller backup.

I said I would never sell mine, but here she is. Normal scratches and surface wear, still performs as new.

<Full Disclosure Section>
There is one small defect with mine that I embraced as an enhancement. The push button on the back that defeats the internal speaker so that you can run to one 4ohm cab disappeared one day. You can still flip the switch by sticking ball point pen or a chopstick or something in there and I'm sure that GK could send you one. But the truth is that using a 4 ohm cab makes it a very big underpowered head, because you're dragging the combo and speaker around and only using the head. I also think the combo is tuned to this head and other cabinets never really sounded as good with it. But when the button was there, it got mysteriously flipped seemingly all the time, so I counted a few first tunes in and then realized the speaker was off and had to go flip it on during the head. No more, if you need to flip it you can, but accidents are over. I did pair this with some 8ohm extentions that sounded nice and the switch doesn't defeat that.
</Full Disclosure Section>

Specs from the GK Website:
- 100 watts main (150 watts with extension cabinet)
- Active 4-band Parametric EQ
- Adjustable Contour, High Boost & Low Cut
- Boost (Valve Effect)
- Stereo Chorus (footswitchable)
- Limiter
- Send, Return, Line Out & Headphone Out
- Dual XLR Out with Ground Lift & Pre/Post switch
- 1/4" outputs with Speaker on/off switch
- One 12" Paragon low resonance Paragon woofer
- 13.5x16x8.5
- 26 lbs.

Throw this bag over your shoulder and walk 10 blocks, climb 4 flights of stairs to a session, put on the passenger floorboard of your car or on the rack of your Vespa (done all of those things) then plug it in and sound great when you get where you’re going, no muss, no fuss.

Let's work out shipping, depending on where you are. I'm known here and if you don't know me, I'm easy to get references on. I won't risk my standing at TB on anything less than a perfect transaction, though.

Would like to sell, but would consider trading for an AI Series III combo or one of a few EA heads +/- cash depending. Might even consider something else, suggest away. But I'd prefer the cash.

My internet access is pretty limited M-F 8-5 right now but leave me a PM and I'll get back to you and I'll honor the order that you came to me in.

You know you want it...

Say it isn't so... you're letting our backup amp go?
I borrowed this amp a couple of years ago when my AI was in the shop and I can vouch for it road worthiness!
Good luck with the sale,
John
