Lightbulb *SOLD* Gollihur Fully Carved Bulgarian, Set up by David Gage! w/ pup, case & stand!

Hi all! I had posted this a while ago to sell it, but then I ended up keeping the bass. I am now getting married and moving, and this thing is still not being played... so it NEEDS to go.. and ASAP! PM me with any offers, I will entertain anything. I need cash- no trades. Anyways! ON with it:

I have for sale one of the fully carved Bulgarian upright basses (4 string) that I bought through Bob Gollihur in '05. I bought it for school, I was a student at the Hartt school of music, but only stayed for one year. This bass has gotten VERY LITTLE playing time since I have bought it. I only take it out once in a while just to clean it and make sure everything is still good. NEVER gigged. The bass is in absolute MINT condition.

As stated, I had this bass set up by David Gage, in NYC. If anyone knows David, you know that this bass was in good hands. He fixed up the fingerboard, put on the adjustable bridge, put new strings on it, and also installed the pickup. The bass plays and sounds amazing. I brought it to David off of a recommendation from my bass professor, Nat Reeves. I still have the receipts.. I paid over 800 dollars, just for David to make it perfect.

I am mostly an electric player... I just never really made the switch I guess you could say. I hate just seeing it sitting in my room getting no attention. It really is beautiful... I would be glad to get pictures very soon once I borrow a camera.

This also comes with a soft case, and stand, which I also bought through Gollihur. Everyone knows that these basses are nothing but quality, just search the name. I have had NO issues with this thing, it just keeps getting better. Please give it a good home.

As for the pickup... unfortunately I had a bunch of my equipment stolen while I was at school... so I ONLY have the actual pick-up that is on the bass, no preamp. But you are halfway there! It is the K&K Bass Master Pro pickup. I still have the box with the original notes signed by Bob Gollihur himself... just no pre-amp.

That is all I can think of off the top of my head right now! If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I will answer them to the best of my knowledge.

PRICE: $1800 picked up. I am willing to drive to meet up. I am located in New Hartford, CT 06057.

NEW PICS! Sorry in advance, but they are VERY quick pics. The bass is dusty/fingerprinty, so new owner gets to give her a good polishin'! haha. Just wanted to get something up here for all who requested it.

the only 2 imperfections i found (and i looked hard!!):

right on the edge here, little nicks:

one maybe 1" long scratch type thing? bottom right of photo. It's not bad physically, just noticable to the eye if you know what I'm trying to say:

That's it folks! In all her glory. Sorry for the pics, I know they aren't the greatest.. but I am no pro photographer haha. I tried! You get the jist of it. Send me more offers! have 2 people coming to look at it tonight.

Is the finish the lighter or darker color, and is it gloss or matte?

Pics would be great whenever you can get them posted.

It's a lighter color, and it is a gloss finish.

I might be able to grab some pics today for ya. The finish on it is truly mint.. no nicks or anything. It has been sitting in our home for years and has mostly been a conversation piece for any newcomers. It's always the first thing everybody asks about as SOON as they get in the house haha.

Big up for Nat Reeves. The Reverend.

He was the man on bass every Thursday night at the 880 Club for a long time. And Stitt's last bassist, among many other things. First saw him in his pre-upright days playing Fender in Richmond in the mid 70's. Always positive. Never rattled. Born to play the instrument.

Absolutely- can't say enough amazing things about Nat. He is responsible for so much in my life musically. He has done SO much, and always has an amazing story to tell about it. I've met people everywhere that know something about him; this thread being yet another stellar example

Also, speaking of Nat- he is definitely the whole reason I ever bought this bass in the first place. He recommended that I check out Gollihur's basses and the rest is history. It was also given to him as soon as I received it, and that is when I took a trip with him to David Gage's place in NYC to get it setup. He sends all of his basses there to be done so mine was to get the same treatment. The bass really is even more perfect that it could ever be.. so beautiful.

Also on another note- I'll be leaving in a couple hours to get a camera/get pics. Let me know if anyone else is interested, I have 2 people coming later today to take a glance at it (I also have a craigslist ad up).
