*SOLD* Hofner Bass For Sale - Atlanta *PRICE DROP*

Early '80s laminate Karl Hofner in near mint condition. No previous repairs or damage. Plays easy and sounds great. The bass needs nothing. This bass has a good mix of deep fundamental, mid-range punch and articulation to the note making it suitable for a wide variety of applications. Amplifies very easy. I'm confidant that there simply is not a better sounding, playing or visually stunning bass available in this price range.

• All set up work performed by a respected luthier
• Brass tuning machines
• Double purfling on both the top and bottom tables
• Fully dressed ebony fingerboard
• New soundpost
• New quarter-sawn bridge
• New high-quality endpin
• New aircraft cable tailgut
• Spirocore Weich strings
• Matte finish
• 3/4, standard 42" string length, D neck
• Deep brown/red color

Also included with the bass:

• New David Gage Realist pickup (already installed)
• Kaces padded bag
• Ingles stand

I really hate to sell it as it's tough to find a great quality instrument in this price range. It's great for live work and I've recorded with it as well. But I've got my eye on an older, fully carved instrument in the future and I can't afford to have a bunch of basses.

More photos are available here.

$2500 OBO.

E-mail me through TalkBass for more info!

Holy smokes, that is one beautifull ply bass. Looks like really fine workmanship and the finish is really nice.

Hope she gets a good home!

Gearhead, thanks for the kind words. One of the nice features about this bass is the visible grain in the top laminate.

Hey everyone, I appreciate all of the trade offers I've received. But I'm only interested in selling the bass for cash at the moment. Thanks!

I'm an electric player looking to start up on upright bass, and I believe I have found my baby.

Melodiaopus, are you already cheating on your baby? The Hofner is still available.

Sweet. Darn I wish I had the money. Would love to give it a good home.

Price drop: $2000 or best offer.

I totally don't need any of the things listed below. But hey, I'm somewhat of a gear head so, here's what I may accept in partial or complete trade if someone wants the Hofner:

Euphonic Audio iAmp Pro

A G&L ASAT bass w/ OHSC. F-hole version only. Tobacco sunburst, natural or white finishes only.

A Fender '51 P Bass reissue w/ OHSC. '90s Japanese version only, not the version built recently. Butterscotch fine, sunburst preferred.

Angry

Very, very tempting.... Now how to conquer the space-time continuum to be in Atlanta to check it out.

I was just in Atlanta yesterday! That is one beautiful bass. I would love to take it off your hands, but unfortunately I don't have the money at the moment. We're going to have to buy a new car soon, so I won't be buying any new instruments for a while, unless I find an amazing bass for less than $1000 (highly unlikely) that is too good to pass up.

Howdy all. The bass is still available. I was thinking about stringing it up with Evahs... this should tempt someone when they hear the nice fat tone...
