*SOLD* Kay for sale. New fingerboard, bridge, and endpin.

Hello

I have an old Selmer Kay for sale. It has an ebony fingerboard, new bridge and endpin, and the original soundpost all provided by the Cinncinatti Bass Cellar (not soundpost) in July of 2003. I am in Indianapolis and I will not ship it. The bass plays and sounds great. I have never played a plywood that sounds as good. It is appraised at 3700 but it needs some work so the price is very negotiable. I am getting a carved bass so I don't want to fix it. I have played this bass since 1998 and I have used it on a hundreds of gigs. I hate to sell it, but I am broke so I must. I will put up some better pictures when I can.

Even though the bass is worth 3700 I will let it go for 2000 because it needs some work.

Is this the same Kay that you said "same thing with my Kay but it is the bass bar. I cannot justify taking the top off so I got a new bass" in another thread today?

Yes it is. I was not trying to pull a fast one. I have told everyone who was interested in the bass what the deal was (probably why no one wants it). It is a great bass and might be worth fixing for someone else. So please realize I am not trying to be shady. I said it needed work and I am knocking 1700 off of what it is appraised for. I apologize if I rubbed anyone the wrong way. I was not intending on ripping anybody off.

Please believe me..........................I am not a scumbag. I would not have posted on that other thread if I was out to rip anybody off.

Actually, it is the original rosewood tailpiece but with a new coil............. It also comes with a Mooradian bag and a Bass Cellar wheel.

lower price

I have lowered the price. 1500. This bass needs a good home. Somebody wants to fix it up, right? I don't know if I mentioned this, but I have a Mooradian bag, wheel, and an Underwood pickup that goes with it. It has Animas on it (5 months old) or I could throw some very old spirocores on it. As far as the rattle goes, it still has not gotten any worse. I have still been using the bass as a backup. I also have some recordings (with spirocores) on my Myspace page. "Stripped Naked" and "Chameleon Eyes".
Thanks
Joel
