A trial can be arranged, for the interested bow shopper.

This bow handles very well, stays in the string, and has (at least on my bass) what I'd describe as a very clear and projecting sound, but not too bright or brittle sounding at all. A very nice example of a Kolstein!

Hi, can't quite tell from your photo, but does your bow have silver or nickel mounting?
Cheers!

I think it's a silver mounting since the ferrule is not very shiny and has a heavy patina. Maybe there is a more expert eye out there that can tell from the picture?

I called and talked to Barrie Kolstein a while back to try to answer that question. If I remember correctly (it was a while ago), he said 1970's, based on my description of the bow and the stamp.

Coming back from trial, wasn't right for the buyer. Might be right for you though!
