*SOLD* For Sale: Engelhardt EM1 *PRICE DROP*

I am listing an Engelhardt EM1 for a friend.

The instrument is in very good condition. A Fishman BP100 is included (the original clips are missing and large black clips are substituted). Also, a Glasser German bow and the green bass cover are included.

I put a set of Spiro Weichs that had about a year's play on them to sweeten the sound.

I played my Wilfer and the Engelhardt yesterday to get a good comparison. The Engelhardt is louder than my Wilfer, but with much less definition. The tone of the EM1 reminds me a good bit of a 60's Kay I used to play in college. Very loud and thuddy with a trad jazz (as in 1940's and earlier) sound.

The owner is willing to travel approx. 100-150 miles to meet with purchaser. That is from Huntsville, AL area.

No shipping unless purchaser has an their own container and is willing to pay for shipping costs.

The owner is asking *new price* 1050.00.

Please PM and I will send pics. I will try to get some pics up on here as well.

Thanks

Engelhardts are grea for beginners, I know several bassists who started out on one and use then to this day!

I think this would make a fine first bass. Better than the one I started on at least. As I stated before, it is loud and has a good older trad jazz tone. It is set up with Spiro Weichs that have been played in well. The Spiro Weichs are a lower tension string which I believe tax the beginner hand less than a more robust string. They are also a good match for the instrument as the Weichs mitigate any thuddiness.

Thanks for the question. Sorry for the late reply. I have been on a musical for the past 2 weeks.

The owner has been in discussions. I bumped just to keep it active. I believe a transaction date is tentatively set for mid-May however.
