*SOLD* For Sale........Revolution SOLO II Double Bass Pickup

SOLD........Revolution SOLO II Double Bass Pickup

This pickup came installed on my Upton bass in 2009. I took it off and never used it except for initial tryout. I use a mic. I did not alter the pickup in any way. It is factory stock as comes from Upton in their own bass.

I see they are now $149.00. I will sell this one for $100 and $5 shipping. PayPal is fine.
Thank you.

How thick is it? I think I might like it as long as it isn't to small for my bridge wings

It appears to be slightly tapered. Thinkest end is 5/16" down to 1/4 inch. Looks like Upton takes out some of the wing and leaves the pickup pretty thick.

I just installed one of these on my nice carved bass and I really really like the sound of it. I have used Underwoods and Realists mostly in the past and decided to give this one a try. I use the Underwood on my Kay with gut strings and it seems to give it that mid punch I need to get through my heavy handed drummer (Eden head, Bag End 15). I have been using that setup for the last 10+ years or so and am really happy with it.

With my carved bass, I found that the Realist was a bit to undefined and bass heavy. I have tried it with different preamps and it still didn't behave the way I needed it to (although, it did sound remarkably good on my Kay). This might be due to the fact that my bass is pretty deep a pushes a lot of low end. I like this pickup because it has the presence and character of the Underwood, but does not color the sound as much in the midrange. It really sounds like my bass but louder. I mostly use this bass for jazz/gypsy jazz.

Just FWIW.

Oh, yeah. It also does a decent job with arco.

The pickup is not shaved down thin, but is still factory thickness, ready to be fit into someone's bridge wing.
