*SOLD* Stenholm C Extension Machine

Just bought a bass and took off the Stenholm C Extension Machine because it was too much for me to handle. Lemur sells them new for $1,295. Your price is $195 plus shipping. Includes all the parts and screws for mounting. Thanks, Dave

Do you have to cut the scroll to install this one?

Thanks
Tim

The bass that it came of off had the scroll cut but I believe you can modify or make a new fingerboard that will wrap around the scroll. I will be happy to ask my luthier on Tuesday to confirm. He is away on vacation until then.

The mechanical parts alone are worth the asking price.

Thanks, Dave

FWIW I am fairlly handy and I tried to install one of these once. Fitting the expoxy "ears" to the scroll and getting the angles right was a BEAR. I gave up, returned the unit and pronounced myself cured of C-ness envy.

Anyway, even if you're better and/or more persistent than me this is not a "quick-and-easy" "introduction to DB-luthiery" project.

Sam-I don't know why you assume this is a job anyone should take on who is not an experienced luthier. This is clearly for someone who knows how to deal with it. Dave
