*SOLD* Velvet Compas 180 (SUIT)

Hey all,

I'm selling a set of Velvet Compas 180 Bass Strings (SUIT)- to clarify, they do NOT have the loops on the end, but the little black threads. These strings have had very, very little playing time on them (a couple hours at most) - they were bought in April of 2007, and taken off in the beginning of May 2007.

Let me tell you, these are incredible classical strings. When I played them, I could not believe how amazing the response was, how long I could sustain them for, and the clarity of the harmonics. The tone was huge and made my bass sound even better than it was. Ontop of that, they are very light tension, and were incredibly easy to play.

If you're wondering why I stopped playing them so soon, it's because at the time I started to gig more jazz than classical and replaced them with my spricores. Not to say that these strings are bad for pizzacato, but I needed something dedicated to jazz.

Info from the Velvet site-

Our classical string designed for orchestral tuning.

The use of up-to-date textile fibres makes the strings particularly elastic, allowing (the instrument) increased amplitude of vibration, and producing a full, rich, open sound.

The pizzicato is strong with long sustain. The strings respond perfectly to the harmonics, which are crystal-clear.

Compas 180 requires no change in playing technique by the instrumentalist, while opening up new possibilities in terms of sound, tone and modulation.

Anyways, the cheapest price of an unused set of these strings (that I have found) is $300USD. I'm asking $160 or whatever the best offer is. I do NOT have the original cardboard case, however I do have the 4 strings, an installation chart, and a color coding guide. I can ship anywhere in the USA and I do accept paypal. If you have any information at all, feel free to email or PM me.

Thanks!

Danny

Yup

If anyones wondering why i'm trying to sell these so badly, it's because my gallien kruger gig amp just got stolen last week. Usually I'm much more patient about this, but I'm a jazz bassist and without an amp I'm pretty much SOL. I've currently got about half the $$ I need so anything I can sell will help. Thanks everyone!
