Price drop to $75. I'll likely keep in my storehouse if no one wants them at that price. $120 on Quinn or Lemur...I forget which I price checked with before I posted.
Could consider trades, I suppose. If you have something to offer reply or PM me. |

I would consider:
Full or partial sets of:
Spirocores, Superflexibles, Jazzers
G only or D and G:
Stark Flexicore '92s, Heavy Helicore Orchestral, Gut of whatever make, new Obligatos or similar perlon with wrapping, Belcantos
Something else.
Again, this a full set of Medium Helicore Orchestrals new in box, never opened. I took a little TB vacation, but I've bought sold and traded amps, cabs and strings through TB. I've personally met a bunch of the regulars. No reason to fear dealing with me. I can give you TBDB referrences if need be.
Or does no one use Helicores anymore? I thought they were pretty popular strings. I loved them in my Orchestral String period, which is why I picked up a second set.

I picked up a set used in a trade (REALLY used) and loved them, so I bought a new set on sale, then picked up a bunch of other things via trade and never installed them. They are dark, but not dead sounding. I felt they were quite woody. Not too dead for pizz, but the note did get lost in a band/stage setting for me, especially the lower ones. I thought that maybe the D & G could work with something, but I have a set of Flexicores that I like for that purpose.
I know a local jazz guy who had them on his jazz bass for years and I thought he sounded great. I’ve know jazz guys used the treble strings with something like Superflexibles. I think pairing them with some mix of Helicore Hybrids on the lower notes could be good. But they are fundamentally orchestra strings and if you’re playing loud and fast with your big right finger, you’ll probably struggle with the low notes over the drummer. They ain’t Spirocores.
I’ve had a few PMs now, which I appreciate. I won’t lower the price again. I’ll keep them or save them for another time when someone is looking or I go back through an orchestral string phase. But, would still love to sell them and will continue to consider trades as described above or similar. |
