1940's Kay M-1 3/4 bass

For sale is a 1940’s Kay Upright M-1 ¾ size bass. This bass was professionally setup in December 2007 with the bridge refitted and adjuster wheels added, the fingerboard planned and the nut reshaped to the correct string height. The neck has no damage. There are a few chips and wear makes in the finish but that is expected for at bass this old. No work needs to be done to this bass and it has the classic Kay sound. I also have a nicely padded Eastman bass bag and student bow German bass bow that was purchased in December for $300 that will be included in the sale.

$2,000 for all.

I prefer a local pickup or am willing to drive to meet.

Kay Bass

The serial number is 11456 stamped inside the bass side F hole in 3/4" tall blue numbers. There is not a
Kay label nor a Kay stamp on the back of the neck.
My original bass teacher and the luthier who set it up
have confirmed it is a Kay with the deep punchy sound.

The strings are Spirocores.
