Hey Buzz…with the serial # 1710 this makes the bass and early to mid 1950’s. I feel certain it is not a 1942 as those numbers are in 500-700 range…just wanted to update you as my research has progressed.

Thanks Molly ,I knew you could get the date closer...I just compared it to an exact matching picture on the net from a well established ,well known ....big time dealer...thats also how I came up with a price to ask for it...my base actually looks better & thats what they got for it...

the bass is still available, I took a small deposit, but the guy could not come up with the total $...It was the first bass that the Mary Kaye Trio used in Las Vegas , Palm Beach..and all there shows through the early 1950's..send me an e-mail address and I will have a friend send some pics...you can call me at 561 793 3520

Damn Molly.....You are really GOOD!...but to be fair, I don't remember if they listed the serial # ...and at that time I didn't even know where to look for one on mine until I talked to you.....Thanks again for all the "Info", Buz ..... I'm trying to post pics, but it isn't working....I think that I could draw some pictures easier.......
