| 1951 M-1 Kay Bass $2200 - Philadelphia
This bass was rehabbed between 2000 and 2005 by Mike Shank and Barry Kolstein. I have since refinished it (originally blond). Shank gave it a new bridge, soundpost, endpin (still very sharp), planed the fingerboard, sealed and repaired seams. Kolstein repaired the scroll which had a crack about half way up. He used fiberglass inside the scroll to repair it. It also had a neck crack that was repaired prior to my owning it. The tailpiece and fingerboard are original. I had the plates/tuners (original) professionally cleaned. There are a few blemishes but otherwise the bass is in excellent condition and sounds great. I will travel in or around the Philadelphia area. The serial number is M-1 26950. I have more pictures.
