You might want to add that it's a five string to draw the right buyer to your post. Looks like a beautiful bass. I find these basses very appealing since I played Ray Brown's at Gage.

It's a 5 stringer with an extension? Is that a tuner on the tailpiece?

That seems to be right. It must be a 4 string converted to a 5 string... Interesting way to mount the extra sting.

This bass is a 4 strings !!!

Actually my bass is a 4 string with extension but I used it in a 5 five strings setup mounting the A string in the center on a electric bass peg screwed on the tailpiece. This way I did not have to dig any holes in the scroll head (just one on the tailpiece), changing the top part of my bridge and the nut for a fiver. Finally the extra string is mounted upside down on a kind of hook inserted in an existing peg.
Everything else is the same !
I can say that I used this setup for a while with no problem at all but I switched it back to a four so it would be easier to sell... and it takes less than half an hour to do !!!
I will make new pictures so there is no more doubt...

not an extension on a low B

Sorry to disapoint you but I should have said that I took off the extension for my 5 strings setup, also changing the nut for a fiver... In fact you could always keep the extension, put another custom nut for five strings with a space left open for the bottom string meaning you would have a high C or D string if you want but I never seen a LONG low B to put on an extension !

Question

Domgi, this is some confusing stuff. You ought to start over with current pictures of the bass as it is now set up. 4 string, 5 string, extension, no extension...Huh?
