| 2001 Shen 7/8 SB300, Solid Carved, super clean, priced to sell This is a very nice bass, but I've decided to ship my top bass from nyc so I won't be needing the shen. I'm tempted to keep it because it's a super reliable and healthy instrument that sounds great, but I need to raise some cash...
I don't know if they make the 7/8 SB300 anymore. The SB300 3/4 goes for about $8000, so I'm guessing the 7/8 would go for $9000 or so. It has a huge sound and very large bottom for a newish bass, but the 42" string length is quite manageable and the neck is very comfortable. It's a really nice bass...
I bought it from the original owner who had played it for a couple years and then stored it in his home after he stopped playing. I've been playing it a fair bit lately and it's opening up very nicely; I'm guessing it still has more opening up to do...
Condition is fantastic. It has slight dings in the finish that could be easily touched up and then it would look virtually new. There are no cracks, no deep scratches...just clean. The SB300 is considered identical to the more expensive SB800 with the exception that the SB800 has more flame in the maple. That said, the flame on this is pretty nice.
I typically see these going for around $7K used, but I want to raise some quick cash so somebody's going to get a deal:
$6K, or best offer. Includes the Shen case (simple protective cover) and a brand new set of Evah Pirazzi Weichs, which suit the bass very nicely.
All-cash sale preferred. Partial trade will be considered, but the bulk of the payment would still need to be cash.
Seattle, WA.
Pictures and sound samples soon.
