ALcoA aluminum upright bass, #489midwest USA

I believe I have one of these alcoa aluminum uprights. Aluminum body, neck and head piece, wood(?) fretboard. Appears to be welded throughout, no rivvets, some of he original paint barely standing on face of bass. It is stamped 489 Inside in black, one piece all aluminum(?). No bridge or tailpiece. Willing to sell althogh I do know what they have gone for, 5,000$ ?Not sure if willing or worth shipping,? I'm in Indiana. Thanks

ShannonHull,
Is the bass you have Black and did it once belong to Muncie Central High School. If it did, I played that on that instrument in the late sixties.

Well, if you:
a.) don't know for sure what kind of bass it is, b.) don't state its condition, c.) don't post a picture, e.) don't state a price and f.) say you haven't decided if you're willing to ship...

...don't be surprised if you don't get too many takers. You aren't ambivalent about actually selling this thing, are you?

The seller didn't show up since more than more than a month anyway.
Closing this thread now.
