Calin Vultur "Euro Artist Series" FS

Romanian built Calin V. Euro Artist Series "Large" for sale. Bought this bass about 5 years ago and I just don't really play upright very much. Fully carved and comes with Fishman pickup and fully padded rolling bag. I believe I paid about $4k new for it, so I am looking to get $2500. Would have to be picked up (Newtown, PA) just north of Philly.

Could you tell a little more about the bass. What size is it? What's the string length? I'm looking for a good upright right in this price range.

I am not very familiar with upright and never really got into it so please pardon some of my ignorance if I do not answer the questions correctly. I was told it is a Large 3/4 but not quite 7/8, string length is 41.5 upper bout on the front is 20 3/8, lower (again wide point from the top) is 25 3/8, width of body at the neck is 7, at the bottom body width is 8 3/4.

The sticker inside reads: Euro Artist Series, Calin Vultur "Large", Reghin, Romanina 2003 #88810 Model 121B

There is a scratch / crack in the varnish see picture, I also took a close up of another mark on the top, the back is clean with no marks. The bass never left my studio since the day it arrived so it has not been abused

Well, a 3/4 bass is the size I need. That crack does worry me though. If it's just a chip in the varnish it shouldn't be a problem, but top cracks are one of the most expensive repairs. Still, I'd love to come by and take a look/play the bass. I'm only 1:45 - 2:00 hours away depending on if I'm at home or at school.

I have two friends with Calin Vultur basses, both models (carcassi and panormo) and both purchased around the same time. Both of their basses have matured into powerful, warm sounding instruments. The model shown here makes one heck of an orchestral/solo instrument. I wouldn't worry too much about the top crack. It's not on the bass bar side and is an easy fix for any qualified luthier. Again, these are good basses and the price is awesome.
