| My sister and I both loved playing this bass in solo, orchestral, and jazz settings through our undergrads in music performance but have both moved on to new basses.
This bass is a Chinese flat back which I bought from the Guanari House in Grand Rapids, MI in 1998. My sister and I have had a lot of work done to it by the Guanari House and it was also set up by Mario Lamarre in Quebec. Mario drilled a hole in the bottom of it so that it can be played with a straight endpin or a
Laborie-Rabbath endpin. It was a bit green when I first purchased it and had cracks early on that needed to be repaired but was taken care of very well and has not had any problems for many years.
This bass is set up perfectly and is a very easy instrument to play. It can get you into the master’s program of your choice like it has done for my sister and I.
Here is a picture.
