The bass is plywood, and was made by Engelhardt (the company that took over for Kay). These basses are strong, but they do not come properly set up for professional playing. Therefore I put on a new ebony fingerboard, a new bridge with adjusters, and the neck was reset to provide the proper tension. I've had it in every situation here in NY. It bows great, and of course is a thumper when playing pizz.
It comes with a case. I need to sell this so I'm reducing the price.
