F.S.: EMINENCE RN-4 EUB #033

EMINENCE RN-4 ELECTRIC UPRIGHT TRAVEL BASS with removable neck. Label reads: “Eminence Portable Upright Bass, G. Edward Luthierie, Alumnus Scott ZumBerge, No. 033, Minneapolis Central Ave. 1999”
Detailed information on this bass may be found at:

This type of bass is certainly very well known and well documented here. Just do a search if you wish to view all the pros, cons, and hair-pulling gurl-fights.

As is well known, the RN-4 is excellent for air travel as the neck easily detaches and the two pieces pack into a golf clubs flight case. Additionally, one gains a whole new level of respectability in airports as you now appear to be a golfer instead of a musician!

This bass is in very good condition, with the only flaw being a dent in the top edge, near the neck. The back is inscribed with the signature of one “Mark Ruben”, a bassist from Texas, and an early Eminence bass user. I do not know if this inst was ever a personal inst of his. I imagine the signature could be removed with naptha, but have never tried. The main advantage of this bass over many other EUB's is it's actual hollow, acoustic chamber. The spruce top with bass bar and sound post coupling to the back plate duplicates much of the sound of an acoustic upright bass, at roughly 1/5th the amplitude, making this a great practice inst for apartment dwelling bassists.

Included is the bass, original issue Gage “Realist” pickup, “prosthetic” hip extension, wrench for neck bolt, proprietary stand, soft case for bass, additional soft case for removed neck or for the stand, and SKB flight case. The list price on the complete package totals $3981.00, discounted at Gollihur for $3162.80 (the last time I checked). I am pricing this package at $2,500 but am willing to entertain any reasonable, respectfully submitted offers. I am seeking $$$ and am not seeking any trades. I will ship to an address in the lower 48 US only. Thanks in advance for not asking me to deviate from this policy.

Hi,
Has this bass sold yet? If not, I'd love to see some pictures of the signature area and the slightly damaged area you mentioned.

Thanks!
Jason
