This, I believe is the only 5 string semi-acoustic Mario Lamarre has made (and I don't think he has made more than a handful of 4 string models).
You can see details at his site

(I have attached one photo to show that the detachable bout is different on my instrument and will send high quality photos on request).
I bought this instrument (and gig bag and travel case) from this award-winning luthier about ten years ago. It has been across the Atlantic, but seen relatively limited gigging, so it is in very good shape.
Unfortunately, I find that the 5 string neck is just a trifle too big for my aging hands, so I am thinking of letting it go if I can find a good trade (I believe I paid $8-9 grand for this instrument--I will find out tomorrow and post the number) and may ultimately consider an outright sale.
Made of solid cherry with an easily removable neck, this bass represents a highly transportable sonic middle ground between a standard double bass and other options like the Eminence. Acoustically, there is enough sound to practice and, in a pinch, to play in a quiet trio setting. Amplified, the sound chamber is sufficient to produce a rich and resonant bass sound.
I could add some cash to a trade if necessary and am interested in 4-string, fully carved basses of non-oriental origin. I could also be interested in the right 4-string upscale EUB or boutique electric bass.

I paid just over $9000 for the instrument.
With apologies for the quality of my playing, you can hear the Lamarre on the sound clips at
