FS:Carved Romanian double bass, LONDON, UK.

Injury and retirement from bass playing forces sale.

It's a carved Romanian three quarter size double bass, bang on 41 inch stop length.

Had a low D extension fitted, plus all sorts of other mod's, good end pin unit, increased overstand etc.

Scratches and dings you'd expect from a gigging bass, leather runner fitted over most worn top edge.
small crack in top rib, repaired way before I got 4 years ago.

Would make great starter bass or excellent gigging jazzer.

£1200 ovno, comes with spirocore mediums and innovation honey strings I'll throw in a few other bits too.

Photo' below shows bass with older bridge with adjusters.
The new (better) bridge does not have adjusters.

More photographs here:
and dimensions etc on request.

Thanks, Thomas

Forgot to mention bass is approx 20 years old.

I'll post up dimensions shortly as I'm not at a computer too often to reply to PMs.

Cheers.

Jack I'm sorry for very slow reply.

Been away from computers.

The top is spruce, back and sides are maple.
Neck may well be low grade maple but might be beech.
This isn't boutique wood by any means (although very very very slight flame can be seen through the 1980's plastic varnish) but that's what is to be expected from a bass this side of £6K.

If you get to london to see a gig or something give me a shout and I'll try and give you some time with the bass>>I'm easy to get to from Victoria station.

I'll PM you my number

cheers
Thomas
