Hello to all. I've got a nice modern hungarian bass i want to sell, here are some stats.

3/4 size, violin shape
105cm stop
Length of back 113.5cm
Adjustable bridge
Fingered C-extension
Spruce top, sycamore everywhere else (I spoke to my luthier about it and he said it's sometimes difficult to know exactly what's going on with these instruments, as he tends to just buy them in his own words from 'gypsies who just turn up with them'!)

Probably the best way to describe it would be as a good intermediate instrument. It has a nice sound for all the tunes and i've been able to get by just fine with it in orchestra as well, as there's some, but not loads of grunt at the bottom. I think it would probably suit a college student (as it works so well up the top end for all the tunes you have to do) or in fact anyone looking for a decent instrument that does the job at a reasonable cost....

Asking price - £6000

The bass will be living at the Royal Academy of Music, London, where I'm studying, so that's probably the place where it'd be easiest to show it to anyone interested. I can email pics to anyone who wants them, couldn't make them work on here....
