Selling my WR Schuster German bow. I actually haven't used it in 10+ years. I'm ashamed to say i don't know much about Double bass gear. I've stopped playing upright and really don't know too much about it..
This bow's been sitting in my closet since about 2001. I took it to the local Violin makers in Denver recently to get the scoop on value... Evan and Rock at Eggen violin shop both took a look at it and estimated a "fair, as is value" to be roughly $550. There is a tiny bit of damage to the very tip.. see attached picture (however does not effect playability), otherwise a pretty nice older bow. Does not come with case.
Here are some of the details from the meeting:
-Possibly from the 1970s.
-approx 1.385 kg
-nickel/silver
-Pernambuco stick, ebony frog.
-the schusters are pretty nice bows and possibly sought after?
-Total Length 30"
