Full set of LaBella guts for sale, NOS *PRICE DROP*

It's time to unload a few things to raise pennies for new purchases, and so I'm reluctantly parting with a set of LaBella guts.

These are new old stock, never been on a bass, and in perfect condition. It's a full set, with an unwound A, D and G, and an E with a silver (?) winding and a green silk end. Clearly these are old strings, but they don't feel at all dry.

These strings would normally retail at around $300, although the newer sets have a metal winding on the A too. I'm hoping for $160 or best offer, and that includes shipping by UPS Ground (insured and trackable) in the US. Lemme know if you're interested outside the US. I'm open to reasonable offers, but would rather not split the set just now.

Thanks for looking!

Tony

Do you have any idea how old? Like, five years, or 25 years?

To be honest I have no idea, other than the fact that the same strings from LaBella these days have a metal winding on the A string. There are stickers on the packets that look like price stickers, and if the numbers are really the retail price then it suggests they're true vintage strings... but it might mean something entirely different!

What I can say is that I expected these to feel dry and stiff, but they really don't. They are clean and flexible, and if I'd bought them today as brand new strings then that's pretty much what I'd expect them to feel like. I haven't oiled them or done anything to them at all, they're exactly as I received them. I'm tempted to try them out, but I know they're not the string I need right now so I'd rather pass them on in a 'new and unused' condition.

I can post pics of the D and G too if you're interested, but they look much the same as the unwound A (other than the thickness of course!)

Cheers,

Tony

The LaBella wound E I bought not too long ago had a ball end, not the loop end, if that means anything. Also that A looks exactly like an Artone A I bought on here. Tony, let me know if/when you wanna split the set. John

Bump for price drop - $160 for the set, including shipping by UPS!
