This is a fully carved 7/8 size Chinese bass in excellent condition by the Chinese luthier Xue Chang Sun. This is the Sinfonica model. This is an excellent bass for a high school, college or university student. This bass works great under many different playing conditions (orchestra, jazz..)
This bass is extremely easy to play due to the excellent set up by luthier Mario Lamarre, and uses quality parts (nut, bridge, fingerboard) made by Mario Lamarre for this bass. This is a Chinese bass, but with high quality parts by a reputable luthier. Over the time I have owned this instrument, it has been maintained and adjusted by Mario Lamarre.
This bass is about two years old and it's sound has already opened up quite a bit!
The endpin was recently upgraded to a carbon fiber "N-Pin" brand end-pin with a quick release mechanism for quick and easy adjustment. It features a carbide tip which never gets dull and can hold in almost everything. To protect wooden floors, it comes with a magnetic rubber ball covering which sticks to the endpin tip. Also included is an adaptor for the Gaines double bass wheel to fit the diameter of the endpin socket. In addition, this bass is drilled by Mario Lamarre to accommodate an angled Laborie style endpin. $6500
