Asking price dropped to $8,500. Pix here - http://scribelife.blogspot.com/2009/...irca-1900.html

I'm offering for sale my German upright, carved, 3/4, made by Edmund Paulus in late 1800s or early 1900s. I've owned it for about 20 years. It looks like the neck was repaired at some point in the bass's long life, but I've never experienced any neck issues.

It's been a great bass for jazz and jamband playing. During the time that I've owned it, several notable bassists have played it in gigs locally, as they liked mine better than what they were offered by the promoter - (the late) Walter Booker, Santi Debriano, and John Orr (Monk)

Big, full, rich sound. Easy to play (set-up is low action).

Some pix available here: http://triovibe.com/
and here: http://triovibe.com/bio.html
Sound clips available here - http://triovibe.com/media.html

I'm throwing in a padded Mooradian cover, a good quality stand, an old Fishman pick-up and a couple of (low-end) bows.

I won't be able to ship this, although I'd be willing to drive a few hours to meet someone halfway. I live in the Tampa Bay area.

Thanks for reading. I can supply more stats on request.

Price drop: Now asking $8,500 - great price for a bass of this vintage (fully carved, late 19th Century), quality, playability and big, rich sound.
