German Grip Brazilwood Bass Bow $119

German Grip Brazilwood Bass Bow $119
Great deal on a great bow that I simply never use anymore. I bought this bow from Violins, Etc a great upright Bass resource in Austin, TX for $185 about three years ago. The bow has been very well cared for and has nearly every hair I bought it with. I've been using Pop's Rosin which seems to take well to this bow, I'll throw in whatever cans of Pops I still have. I hate to part with the bow but someone needs it much more than I do. Shipping from Texas not included.

Cheers,
JD, aka DrChill

Am interested in checking out your bow.
Any chance you're headed towards New Mexico today?
I'm playing a jazz festival in Roswell, NM, a mere 9.25 hours' drive from you. (There are a couple of Texans here performing, so it's not as preposterous a thought as it sounds.)
Meanwhile: what exactly is Brazilwood? It sounds suspiciously like "ebonized," as in the fingerboards of some imported basses.
Thank you.

Richard,

I'm no expert or anything but Brazilwood is an actual deal, it is a less expensive alternative to fancy materials like pernabuca or carbon-fiber. I find it to be a much, much better alternative to the fiberglass jobs one can get in the same price range.

And like I said, I got it from Violins, Etc in Austin which has an outstanding reputation, so I'm pretty sure its a real-deal:

Or maybe you're right, I don't know... Anybody want to weigh in?

JD (the Dr.)

P.S. No plans for Roswell or the likes anytime soon.

Yeah,

I will, people have been asking for photos and I know I have some, I just need to get home long enough to dig them up. Houston, stand by for pictures, over.

OK,

So the guys at Violins, Etc say that this is a factory made bow that the get from a distributor, not really a name brand if you will. Be that as it may, they and I fully stand behind the quality.

Here is the deal, you can get a better bow for a whole lot more dough. This bow sounds great and at this price about the only other thing you can get is a scratchy fiberglass stick.

But don't listen to me, let the stick do the talking. If you buy the bow and you don't like it, send it back for a full refund.

Right on. I'll see what I can do. I'm definitely interested in the bow. I just need some money to become interested in my pocket so I can buy it, lol.
