I have a set of 4 Gut strings from my 56 Kay.
I have no idea what brand they are. They were on the bass when I bought it last week.
The A is new. The E is a wound gut. The D & G are in very decent shape and as a set they sound balanced.
At the bottom (about 2" up from the bridge) on the G it's a tiny bit thinner than the rest of the string.
My luthier said it effects nothing and was probably that way new.
All in all they are a very good set of guts.
$45.00 for the set.
The A alone cost the seller close to $70 a month ago.
