Price: $2000
The bow is lying around here somewhere. If you're interested and want pictures of it, let me know. Bag is also included. There are some minor scratches.

The wrappings are purple, if that is any clue. The strings should be in good condition even though they've been on it for a few years since it's barely been played - I bought it anticipating becoming a music major in college, but ended up switching out of it before starting class. I can take a close up shot of the strings if that would help, just ask.
Also to note: The pickup is not included. The wires got ripped off when I tried to remove it.

The silk lenght at the tailpiece makes me think they're Dominants, but...
Are the balls solid or do they have a hole?
Hole: Dominants.
(my guess, of course!)

(my guess, of course!) | The string balls are brass colored, and do have a hole.

I'm sure it's not exactly that because there's no flame on it, and the shape is different. This just says "model 300" on the inside, not VB300. Quote:

if you look closely at the inside rim of the ff holes, you will see 1 of 2 things:
- either a solid piece of wood, possibly with some grain or tool marks (like julienned carrots or something), or
- a cross-section of several layers of veneer glued on top of one another. You may also see this on the outside edges of the top and back, if there is any wear or delamination.
It's not always easy to tell but that's where I'd start. The ribs are a little more difficult and I can't think of a surefire way to tell, off the top of my head. maybe a luthier will chime in on that one. |

The picture's a little blurry, but I hope that helps. It looks like one piece. It's definitely not a cross-section of of several layers.

Another thing I've observed -- and all it is is an observation, nothing more -- is that 99% of tops use spruce or some similar coniferous wood, and you can see the grain, in the form of tight lines running top to bottom across the whole of the table. Some plys may fake this well but most I've seen do not. Here's a perfect example that someone just posted: |
