Thumbs up Only for a proffessional.

This is the one!!! So you’re looking for a top quality ¾ double bass at less than a top price. I have two sons in college, a music comp and a performance major both on scholarship in Nashville and I’m selling my bass to pay their room and board for the coming school year. My middle son is 6’6” 350 a great football player but a musician at heart. He's in one of the bass pics I have for size comparison. Email me and I'll send them if you're genuinely interested . This bass comes with a fiberglass hard shell case with 2 sets of wheels and a stand. I have 2 bows for sale, a French style highly figured snake wood bow 152g with a snakewood frog. It's silver fitted and lizard skin wrapped with abalone inlay dots and foot and new white Mongolian hair $1900. Also, a German style carbon fiber bow newly haired with an ebony frog and abalone dots and foot for $800, both are worth every penny you wont find nicer bows for this money anywhere. Words don't justly describe this bass, but here goes. Fully carved Spruce top with one proffessionally glued and triple cleated relief crack on the left. I will have to point it out, even in person, or you won’t know it’s there. But if I was buying it I would want to know. There is Mother of Pearl purling adorning the top and back. It has a beautiful carved Flamed Maple back and sides with a matched maple sound post. An exquisitely hand carved scrollwork tops a solid neck with ebony fingerboard. A fresh set (May ’07) of $200 La Bella strings and brass tuners with carved brass side plates. You will have to hear this bass in person to appreciate the sound. A first call cellist and teaching proffessor here in the Orlando area called it “Amazing” and "any orchestra would be proud to have this in their pit or on the stage, great presence". He said, “this bass is worth a bare minimum of $12,000". My luthier said, “that appraisal is low and most orchestra’s in America don’t have a bass of this quality”. It’s presently set up for bowing. There is no label and I don't know its history. Email me at dbassviol@rock.com for pics.
Take a good look. You will not be disappointed!!! $12,500.

That's got some beautiful wood and purfling. If I had $12,500 I'd drive to Orlando right now and pick it up. Instead I'll just bump for a beauty of a bass.

Yeah it is. If I had $12k I'd put a down payment on a house, but if I had another extra $12K this bass would sure be sweet to have. enjoy it while you have it, and good luck with the sale.
