Pfretzschner Aluminum bass

Well, this bass needs some work. Its previous owner fell off of a PA stack one night while playing a show. So this bass has been officially crashed! It had square headlights mounted through the top, and 2 smaller lights above. I had the holes welded, and was going to repair the crash area, but I decided it might be time for this one to go to a new owner. The body is basically complete with bassbar, soundpost pad, all the body blocks, the top, and the back, and tach, temp and oil pressure gauges. It will need quite a lot of bodywork, and some filler, so it would probably need to be at least partially painted. The neck has been broken at the heel a few times, but is repairable and usable. It appears to have a Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard, and a decent set of German tuners. I think this bass could be brought back to life by someone who knows what they're doing. It will also need all the usual fittings, bridge, tailpiece, strings etc. I can disassemble it for compact packing, to reduce the shipping costs. I'm looking for offers around 500.00 + shipping.

Would it be possible to have a new top made, by a skilled sheet metal worker? That might be its only hope.

That pit crew has some work to do if that bad boy's going to make it to the starting grid for the 500 tomorrow.

Nice! If that was a crushed AlCoA, I'd already have it home....
