Pfretzschner carved flat-back on Durham NC Craiglist

Not my cuppa tea, but maybe of interest to the group.

I wrote asking for pictures.

Sounds like deal of the year to me--if I was anywhere near there I'd grab it...

craigslist bass

Please note that this isn't my craigslist listing. I just thought some of my Talkbass friends might be interested. I don't know who the seller is, but it looked like a heck of a deal.

Jim, you did a good thing.

Even better if you go down there and offer him $650 and send it to me!

craigslist bass

Thanks, Jake
I'm a darksider here ('52 Precision reissue, SG Supreme Guitar of the week, Fender BG-29 ABG) with a lot of interest in learning DB, so I've been reading the forum and watching Craigslist. I really don't have any interest in the care and feeding of a fully carved bass and have been keeping my eyes open for a decent laminated bass. I have to admit I was tempted, but thought this might be of more interest to you "cognoscenti" Hope somebody deserving ends up with it.
Jim

I think I've seen this bass on eBay a couple of months ago. If it's the same one it's a absolute basket case...

The one I saw looked like it needed a couple of thousand dollars in work. If I remember correctly the finger board was either off or badly attached and it looked like the top needed to come off and some other things that I can quite remember. Given it’s state and the need for shipping to the west coast I gave it a pass.

If it was close enough to see in person and if its state is not too bad it might be worth it, who knows everyone needs a project now and then.

Post the pictures maybe it is the one I spoke of…
